Setting Up Your Account for Success

Configure your PostageEasy account settings and preferences for optimal shipping efficiency.

Account Configuration Best Practices

Taking time to properly configure your PostageEasy account will save you time and money on every shipment. Follow these best practices to optimize your account.

Complete Your Business Profile

Navigate to Settings > Business Profile and enter:

  • Business Name: Appears on return labels and invoices
  • Return Address: Your default "ship from" address
  • Phone Number: For carrier contact if needed
  • Email: Where shipping confirmations are sent

Set Default Package Preferences

Save time by configuring your most common shipping settings:

  • Default package dimensions (length x width x height)
  • Typical package weight
  • Preferred carrier (USPS, FedEx, or UPS)
  • Default service level (Priority, Ground, etc.)

These settings auto-populate when creating new shipments, but can be overridden as needed.

Configure Notification Settings

Stay informed with email notifications for:

  • Label purchases and shipment confirmations
  • Delivery confirmations
  • Tracking updates and exceptions
  • Low balance alerts
  • Weekly spending summaries

Build Your Address Book

Add frequently used recipient addresses to your address book for one-click shipping. Features include:

  • Organize contacts by customer name or business
  • Store multiple addresses per contact
  • Validate addresses to reduce delivery errors
  • Import from CSV for bulk additions

Set Up Payment Methods

Add multiple payment methods for added flexibility:

  • Primary credit card for auto-recharge
  • Backup payment method
  • Configure auto-recharge thresholds (e.g., add $100 when balance falls below $20)

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Protect your account with two-factor authentication (2FA). Once enabled, you'll need both your password and a verification code from your phone to log in.

Team Accounts and Permissions

If you have multiple users, set up team members with appropriate permissions:

  • Admin: Full access to all features and settings
  • Shipper: Can create shipments but not modify billing
  • Viewer: Read-only access to shipments and reports
